Michael Healy Rae TD vows to get bike thief

Michael Healy-Rae TD has had his bike stolen in Dublin, close to the Dáil, and he’s not happy about it.

The Kerry politician uses a bike to get around Dublin when he’s in the city for sittings of the Dáil.

And he has given a Liam Neeson-style warning to whoever took the bike, taking to Twitter to do so.

“I will find you and it will be a sorry day for you that you ever decided to mess with me and my property,” he said, adding he was “looking for” the thief.

He told TheJourna.ie the theft was “outrageous” and that whoever carried it out was “dirty, rotten”.

“I left the chain and lock off it,” he said of leaving the bike near the passport office on Molesworth St.

“I was stupid I know. But I was rushing to get back to the Dáil for meetings,” he said, adding he had made an official complaint to gardai.

“The reason I reported is because I’m always standing up in the Dáil and criticising because the crime stats are wrong,” he said.

“A lot of people are victims of crime but don’t report it, particularly in rural areas. You should let the gardaí know what happened to you.”
