Exactly two months into the road racing season and Christopher McGlinchey sits atop Cycling Ireland’s A1 rankings.
The ChainreactionCycles rider leads the way from David Watson (North Down CC) and Daire Feeley (iTap).
McGlinchey has collected 117 ranking points since the start of the season, with Watson in 2nd on 84 points and Feeley on 3rd with 75 points.
McGlinchey has been both consistently in the placings and has won on several occasions since the drop of the flag.
He has taken the Annaclone GP, the St Patrick’s Day Potato Race, the opening stage and the final yellow jersey at Kerry Group Rás Mumhan and the PJ Logan just after Easter and has been in the podium no fewer than 10 times already in 2016.
Watson has taken victory three times; the Phoenix GP, Wallace Caldwell and Cicli Sport Grand Prix.
And while Feeley is yet to taken a victory he has been very consistent.
According to Cycling Ireland's A1 rankings, 105 riders scored points. There are others in the ranking with zero A1 points, including those who have been promoted.
But for the purposes of this year we have only published the rankings down to 1 point scored. For the complete list, you can follow this link.
