Bryan McCrystal will ride for Strata3-VeloRevolution for the 2017 season after ASEA-Wheelworx disbanded at the end of last season following two successful years.
McCrystal will be personally sponsored by VeloRevolution, the clothing brand set up by fellow Irish rider Aidan Crowley in recent years.
The idea is to support the Dundalk man as he pursues more triathlon and Ironman events in the coming 12 months.
He will still race on the road as he’s done for the past number of years and in his new team he’ll be joined by some formidable riders.
As well as the aforementioned Crowley, the team have Stephen Murray, Mark Dowling, James Davenport, Simon Ryan, Anthony Doyle, Joe Fenlon, Michael Fitzgerald, Matt Slattery and Paul Kennedy on board.
The plan for the team is to ride all the major races on the Irish calendar, with particular emphasis being placed on Kerry Group Rás Mumhan, the An Post Rás, the Suir Valley Three-Day, the National Road Championships and the Tour of Ulster.
The team will race on Giant Bikes. Key sponsor STRATA3 is an Irish web agency while Stephen Roche’s cycling holiday and training camps business has also come on board as sponsors.
The Midleton-based An Rothar bike shop, now in its third decade in operation, will continue to support the team.
