Matt Brammeier launches new high-end business venture

Matt Brammeier has signed with Aqua Blue Sport for next year, but he is also setting up a very high-end new business. Above, with Dan McLay, his partner in the new venture.

Still with plenty of years ahead of him in the pro peloton, Matt Brammeier has launched a new business venture aimed at showing cyclists how the top pros live.

Along with fellow pro rider Dan McLay, Brammeier (31) has set up the bespoke Condreu; a cycling week in the north east of Spain like no other.

Dubbed an experience “where the pro cyclist lifestyle meets luxury”, those who sign up to live like a pro for a week will be in for a very high-end experience.

They’ll be looked after like pros in 5 star accommodation with a WorldTour support crew including an in-house chef who works for World Tour teams, soigneurs and mechanics.

Brammeier and McLay will also bring the small groups on guided rides, and offer advice on how to improve and generally try to give their guests the cycling week of their lives.

However, they insist it’s not a training camp.

Instead, it’s a luxury week away for a small group that sounds like it would suit the corporate world and general high rollers.

At £3,500 (€4,120) per person per week, it’s aiming to be the Shelbourne Hotel of cycling weeks away.

The hotel that will host the group is the AC Palau de Bellavista in the mountains of Catalunya above Girona.

And those on the week will get a set of exclusive Chapter 3 cycling clothing as well as daily massages and other treatments.

There is one week planned for now – in April - as Brammeier and McLay are focussing on a really exclusive week away rather than high volume.
