Yorkshire marshal dives as team car smashes through traffic island
This marshal at the Tour de Yorkshire was standing on a traffic island today when he was forced to jump to safety.
He was on the island blowing a whistle and waving a flag to warn the riders of its presence.
However, when the cyclists reach him they pass safely, hugging the kerb to the marshal's left. And they go nowhere near the traffic island hes's standing on.

The first vehicles to reach him pass him both sides of the traffic feature he is standing on; which would be unnerving in itself.
But when an Astana team car reaches him, it drives straight for him, driving right over the traffic island and smashing the bollards to pieces.
Luckily the marshal was more alert than the Astana driver and he managed to jump to safety; just about.
