Miguel Angel Lopez has lashed out angrily at a Giro spectator who ran alongside him and caused him to crash.
The Astana rider was in the favourites group on the final climb of the day with just under 6km remaining when the incident happened.
At that point a spectator was running alongside the group, though the riders were close to the barriers at the side of the road.
Lopez fell, as did the fan, and the rider lashed out several times at the spectator on the ground.
He eventually got going again, but not without the help of his team mate and as the motos and cars formed into a traffic jam just behind.

By the finish he had lost a whopping 1:49 on the leaders by the end of the 194km stage 20 from Feltre to Croce D’Aune-Monte Avena.
While Lopez's reaction looked awful on TV, it appeared he only knocked the spectator's cap off rather than struck him.
The reaction was perhaps understandable in the moment. However, the incident was an accident and the fan looked like he got carried away in the moment and bumped into another spectator as he ran.
