Cycling Ireland is set to enter an Irish national team in Rás Tailteann next month, with the selectors to draw up a longlist of potential riders from which the final selection will be made.

Former track world champion, and Rás Tailteann stage winner, Martyn Irvine will once again be manager of the national team on the race. As was the case last year, the team will be compromised mainly of our best U23 riders.

They will race under the eye of Irvine from the team car and also a road captain, who will be the only non-U23 rider in the team. At last year's Rás, the Irish team won a stage with Adam Ward and took the climbers' classification with Dean Harvey while road captain, Rory Townsend, also claimed a stage victory.
