With a Cycling Ulster selection in the race and several other Irish riders also set to line-out, there will be plenty of Irish interest in the Lincoln GP this weekend.
The race, one of the most prestigious victories on the domestic scene in Britain is 103 miles. It takes in 13 laps of a circuit passing through Lincoln each time.
And the cobbled climb of Michaelgate each lap will soften up the riders’ legs.
The only Irish rider to win it, David O’Loughlin, took victory way back in 2007.
In the women's event this weekend, Josie Knight of WNT-Rotor Pro Cycling is the only Irish rider down to start.
But in the men's race there are 15 Irish riders down to start; a huge number.
Fresh from taking 5th place on stage three at the Tour de Yorkshire. Robbie McCarthy rides for JLT Condor.
Newly declared for Ireland, Rory Townsend lines out with his Canyon Eisberg team.
An Irish trio of Conn McDunphy, Sean McKenna and Damien Shaw are all named in the Holdsworth Pro Cycling line-up for the race.
Mark Downey and Matt Teggart ride for Team Wiggins and it should be very interesting to see how they get on.
They have been exposed to very hard international racing already this year and have ridden well abroad.
Ben Walsh, the 18-year-old who rode the Tour de Yorkshire, is also down to race this Sunday; in the colours of Vitus Pro Cycling.
And Northern Ireland's Cameron Jeffers, who rode very well at the Tour of Ulster last week, is set to take to the start line with his St Piran team.
Marc Potts (Neon Velo) and Marcus Christie (SBR) are riding on the Cycling Ulster team in the event.
The line out alongside Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse Sport), Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles), Marc Heaney (ASFRA Racing) and Conor McCann (Inspired Cycling).
Many of the Irish riders taking part will ride the Rás the week after next.
Last weekend’s Tour of Ulster and this Sunday’s contest in Lincoln should prove very useful workouts before the big one.
