Leo Doyle, who took his first UCI-ranked win in Europe this season, will once again race in the pro peloton in 2025 after signing for a new Belgian-Australian team.
Doyle (24) raced for Canadian Conti team XSpeed United Continental this year, winning a stage at Tour de Kurpie (2.2) in Poland as well as placing 7th in a very competitive elite road race at the National Road Championships.
He ended his season on a high by claiming a bronze medal at the National Gravel Championships, with a big year in Europe now to come for his new Belgian-based team, with counts a 2024 Olympic team pursuit gold medal winner on its roster.
The Atom 6-Decca Continental Team is registered in Australia but will compete from a Belgian based, with 12 riders now confirmed for the new outfit.
“I am super excited to be part of this new project for 2025," Doyle said in a brief statement released by his new team. "It has been clear from the first day, the staff and management are passionate, dedicated and committed to providing the best possible team environment.
"Through this I am sure we will have an amazing first season, which will allow Atom 6 Decca to continue to grow. I am exciting for the season ahead and am working hard to be in the best shape.
"I’m looking forward to achieving the results for the team and repaying the tremendous efforts of all these within the organisation.”
The team's roster is mostly comprised of very young riders, including Oliver Bleddyn, the 22-year-old who won team pursuit gold with Australia on the track at the Paris Olympics.
