Learner motorcyclist just clocked by Garda doing staggering speed

This is an extraordinary tale from the roads of Ireland that occurred over the weekend.
We bring you lots of stories here on stickybottle about the great things Irish cyclists do.
And we also publish pieces about the bad things, such as road traffic infringements.
Sometimes people get a bit upset that we never write about how motorists break the laws too.
So here’s a little story to balance up things. We think you’ll agree it’s incredible and scary that we cyclists are sharing the roads with idiots like this.
The photo was published by the Garda Twitter account over the weekend.
There are two motorbikes in the shot. One is owned by a driver who had just been detected doing in excess of 200km per hour.
To make matters worse, the incident in New Ross, Co Wexford, involved a motorcyclist who was driving on a provisional licence.
It wouldn’t really be any better had the driver been an experienced motorcyclist. But the fact somebody new to driving is doing speeds like this is mind boggling.
Stay safe out there folks!
