Lara Gillespie's Irish road champion's kit unveiled for season ahead

Lara Gillespie has already worn many jerseys - including European champ - in her short career to date and now her latest one, of Irish road race champion, is ready for action

Lara Gillespie took a great win in the elite women's road race at the National Road Championships in Limerick last year.

With that win she earned the right to wear the Irish champion's jersey for the season ahead. And now that jersey has been unveiled.

She will wear it while riding this year for Team Rupelcleaning, a Belgian-based, Irish-registered, Continental team.

Gillespie is an international road, track and cyclocross rider and is former European junior champion on the track and multiple junior Worlds and Europeans medal winner.

She takes a step up this year signing with a UCI Continental team and is team mates on Team Rupelcleaning with four other Irish riders; Alice Sharpe, Kelly Murphy, Gaby Homer and Mia Griffin.

Gillespie's new Irish champion's jersey, below, has been produced by Verge UK & Ireland. It's a classic design and is similar to the Irish champion's kit worn by Nicolas Roche when he rode for Team Sky.
