Lance Armstrong is being interviewed on Newstalk tonight, Friday

Like him or loathe him, Lance Armstrong is box-office material and he will be interviewed on Newstalk's Off The Ball this evening from 7pm.

Lance Armstrong will be live in studio and a guest on Newstalk’s (106-108) nightly sports chat-show Off The Ball this evening.

The disgraced drugs cheat will join the popular radio station’s sports editor Ger Gilroy in studio from 7pm alongside presenter Joe Molloy and analyst Colm Parkinson.

The radio station broke the news today on twitter when they said “It’s as big as interviews come. We speak to Lance Armstrong tonight”.

It’s believed the interview will be broadcast live on air but the decision to bring in Armstrong hasn’t gone down well, with many taking to social media to voice their disapproval.

A statement on the Off The Ball Facebook page read;

“He's a man we've covered extensively as a show. From his glory days, right through to his downfall, his story is undeniably incredible.

“Tonight, he joins us on the show. Join us from 7 o'clock to hear it in full.

“Later this month (21st), he'll be appearing at 'One-Zero', the sports and tech conference.”
