Here's a terrific set of photos from very deep in the archives; 32 years ago to be precise. It was the summer of 1985 and the Kellogg’s Criteriums were in full swing and in Cork, Ireland.
Stephen Roche and Martin Earley were there, as well as a young Irish pro Gary Thompson riding for ANC Halfords.
They were joined by the British pro teams, though Sean Kelly was absent.
And with him out of the picture, it was the British riders who got the upper hand on the night.
Joey McLoughlin would win from Mark Walsham, with Roche rounding out the podium; good times and it's a pity they're gone considering the pro riders we have now.
Many thanks to Ronan Fox for granting us permission to use these.
He says he had a poor camera on the night and wishes the quality of the shots was better. But they're a great look back in time.
