David Walsh is definitely not all that upset at the arrest of Olympic Council of Ireland stepped-aside-temporarily president Pat Hickey.
Having crossed swords with Olympic Council of Ireland stepped-aside-temporarily president Pat Hickey in the past, journalist and author David Walsh is not exactly devastated at the events of the last 24 hours.
Hickey, who has been at the top of the OCI for three decades and is also head of the European Olympic Committees, is currently under police arrest in Brazil amid allegations of ticket touting.
The 71-year-old former Judo player has a history of heart complaints and is currently in hospital in Rio as a precaution.
He's been treated since his arrest at his hotel yesterday morning but is expected to be interviewed at a police station when he is well enough.
Another Irishman, Kevin James Mallon, implicated in the alleged effort to illegally sell over 800 tickets for Olympic events has been in police custody since his arrest on the day of the opening ceremony two weeks ago.
Walsh has sent out a series of Tweets on the controversy, clearly not overly upset by Hickey's arrest.
One compares Hickey's state of undress - when the police called to his hotel room to arrest him - to that of The Simpsons character Montgomery Burns.
And in other Tweets Walsh claims Hickey was the first ever person to send him a writ for his journalism.
He said once the case finally reached court, Hickey's legal representatives applied for an adjournment and he heard no more about the matter.
Walsh - who covered cycling for years before focussing on the drugs issue when Lance Armstrong shot to mega stardom - has also resurrected one of his stories from October 1996 calling for Hickey to go from his post.
Walsh not upset Hickey's arrest
