Next Monday, May 9th, will see some of Ireland’s best older cycling figures featured in a TV series presented by former athletics world champion Eamonn Coghlan.
Episode 5 of ‘Super Fit Seniors’ on Setanta Sports will feature 83-year old Kevin Simms, prolific winner Sean Lally and the evergreen Paddy Fitzsimons as well as showing riders who took part in IVCA races and in the Wicklow 200 last year.
The series started on the April 11th and has been well-received, with the lives of some of the country’s fittest mature men and women looked at.

Kevin Simms (83) is one of the veteran riders to appear on Super Fit Seniors with Eamonn Coghlan next week.
Separately, a new six-part series on RTÉ2 will go behind the scenes in the lives of some of the country’s Olympians - past and present – as well as hopefuls.
The first episode is aired next Wednesday, May 11th, and in episode three on May 25th there’s an in-depth interview with 2012 Olympian Martyn Irvine.
The now-retired former world track champion talks about what motivated him to take up the sport, to turn professional and of course, what drove him to make it to London four years ago.
The chain of events that led to his retirement this year is also discussed. Looks like a good one.
