Just a couple of weeks after the first Irish U23 and junior teams were named, for racing on the domestic scene, another national team will be in action in Europe this week.
The U23 selection is comprised of Luke
Smith, Leo Doyle, Liam Curley, Adam Ward, JB Murphy and Cian Keogh.
The team is a really strong one made up of riders who have considerable experience already at home and abroad and are now looking to step up into the U23 Nations Cup against other national selections from all over the world.
The six Irish riders are in action
this week, starting today, in the Etoile d’Or
Nations Cup two-day event in France.
Today’s action consists of a 9.6km
TT in Pouligny-Saint-Pierre followed by a 142km road
stage from Mérigny-Saint-Savin to Le Blanc.
The third stage, tomorrow, is 182km
starting and finishing in Montmorillon, which features small climbs from start
to finish.
