A very strong Irish team has been named for a Junior Nations Cup event in Germany next weekend.
Liam Curley, Aaron Doherty, Patrick Doogan, JB Murphy, Ronan Tuomey and Ben Walsh have all been selected for international duty.
They will ride the ‘Trofeo’ three-day race from June 9th to 11th.
While no Cycling Ireland staff will travel with the team, they will have an experienced support group nonetheless.
Former elite international and Olympic team manager Martin O’Loughlin will manage the team.
And he will aided by another two experienced campaigners in Lyndsay Gamble and Ken Blanche.
The German fixture will be four stages and will feature some of the best juniors in the world.
Following on from the success of Irish junior riders abroad in recent years - including Eddie Dunbar, Michael O’Loughlin and Mark Downey - it is hoped this crop can continue that tradition.
