A five-rider Irish national team has been named for the Junior Tour of Ireland, which gets underway on Tuesday, July 12th, in Co Clare.
The race is once again sponsored by Eurocycles Eurobaby and will contested over six days of action.
Oisin Ferrity, the Island Wheelers rider who won the junior road race at the National Road Championships in Kanturk, Co Cork, last weekend, is named among the Irish team.
He is joined by another first-year junior, Quillan Donnelly; the Usher Irish Road Club man having been a constant in the results this year and taking TT silver at the nationals last week.
That duo is joined by three riders who have been selected for the junior events at the European Road Championships in Portugal; Liam O’Brien, Conal Scully and Adam Gilsenan.
Those three will conclude their Europeans on June 9th, in the road race, and will then return home and get ready for the Junior Tour of Ireland.
The Eurocycles Eurobaby Junior Tour of Ireland runs from July 12th to 17th. It will be based in Clare, with stage finishes in Barefield, Corrifin, Kilkee, Barefield and Ballyvaughan.
We'll have more on the race a little closer to the time.
