Irish riders launch online funding appeal for 2017 plans

Those who pledge money to the online funding drive will get kit in the team's new livery; from mitts and caps to jerseys and shorts.

Having come together to form the new TrackProject.ie team, some of Ireland’s best track riders have now launched an online funding appeal.

Felix English, Fintan Ryan and Marc Potts are hoping to attract investors and sponsors to grow their project.

And as an initial step in trying to raise some of the funds they need to foot the bill for their international racing plans, they have launched an appeal on PledgeSports.org that anyone can contribute to.

And those who donate will get new racing kit in the livery of the TrackProject.ie; with different items on offer depending how much is donated per pledge.

But that will all depend on the track calendar which has yet to be confirmed.

They will race the various UCI World Cups, World and European Championships with Ireland but in other international track events they will ride as an independent team.

You can visit their PledgeSports page and contribute some money if possible.

Anyone interested in becoming involved, including riders interested in being considered for the team, can contact the riders through their Facebook page.

Felix English, Fintan Ryan and Marc Potts have set out an ambitious plan to attract sponsors to help fund their goal of going to UCI-ranked track events around Europe so they can progress their respective careers on the boards.
