The Irish junior team have posted good rides at the European Road Race Championships in Goes, Holland, today with four of the team finishing in the bunch just seconds behind the winning breakaway.

Cormac Clarke was the best Irish finisher in 36th place followed by: Jack Sadler 50th; Ryan Mullen 67th; Thomas Fallon 80th; Sean Hahessy 110th.

Dylan Foley punctured out, on a fast technical course where no team cars were allowed follow and where the riders had only neutral service for back-up. Hahessy had been dogged by a knee problem which flared up during the race causing him to lose some time on the bunch.

The Irish women’s U23 team were also in action today. Fiona Guihen, Lauren Creamer and Mary Costello were all non-finishers.
