This cyclist had a very lucky escape An Irish cyclist – and, indeed,
several drivers – had a lucky escape after they all emerged unscathed from the
incident in the video below.
The cyclist – who goes by @righttobikeit on Twitter – was riding in the Munster area when a driver overtook him on a straight narrow road.
As the driver overtook, oncoming
traffic was getting very close, led by a large bus. In the clip below the bus
driver appears to slow down as he/she anticipates the trouble ahead.

The overtaking driver is then
forced to correct their position on the road and does so by moving to the left,
out of the way of the coach but squeezing the rider in the process.
Luckily this did not result in a
crash and all involved continued on their way, though the cyclist got the
fright of his life.
The matter is under investigation
by the Garda and we’ll keep you posted on the outcome.
