Video: Downey frustration clear to see (and hear) at Tour l'Avenir finish

Mark Downey's front wheel in the air as he crosses the line in 2nd place at the end of Tour de l'Avenir stage 6 today in France.

Ireland's Mark Downey was clearly livid having been narrowly beaten to a stage win the Tour de l'Avenir today.

He pulled clear, along with team mate Daire Feeley, in the successful nine-man breakaway of the day.

And though he sprinted in for 2nd place, he was desperately chasing the win.

He relinquished it at the death as his legs gave way. And it was Alessandro Covi (Italy) who took the victory as the bunch closed in behind.

Downey, having taken some very big results on road and track in recent years, looked really frustrated at being beaten.

He lifted his front wheel off the ground crossing the line and pounded it onto the road before letting out a roar in frustration.

While disappointing for him; it's great to see the Irish team on the attack and racing with so much passion.

We'll have a word with Downey shortly.
