Archie Ryan has signed for Team Jumbo Visma Development Team, a new Continental outfit owned by the Jumbo Visma WorldTour team.
The Irish rider, who has competed as a junior this season
and last, confirmed the news today after officially signing with the squad yesterday.
He is one of 13 riders, many of whom are from the
Netherlands, to have signed for the squad for 2020.
The 17-year-old has been a regular on the Irish team over
the past two years and claimed the queen stage of the Junior Tour of Wales last
year.
The Irish teenager is part of the foreign contingent
along with Kiwi Finn Fisher-Black and German duo Michel Hessmann and Maurice
Ballerstedt.
The Dutch riders in the line-up include Rick Pluimers, Axel van der Tuuk, Lars Boven, Owen Geleijn, Olav Kooij, Hidde van Veenendaal, Mick van Dijke, Tim van Dijke and Gijs Leemreize.

Robbert de Groot, the head of the development team, said he was delighted to have an international dimension to the line-up for next season.
“We generally try to raise Dutch cycling to a higher
level,” he said of the more obvious focus on Dutch riders.
“Nothing is more beautiful than the development of young
riders who improve themselves in such a way that they start acting at a
professional level.
“The challenge is to achieve this for the long term. The
development team must be the stepping stone to the pros for young, talented
riders. ”
Director Richard Plugge said: “I am very proud that,
after the disappearance of the Rabobank Development Team, we have been able to
set up a development team with the help of Jumbo and Visma.
“Together with, among other things, a school plan, we
want to create growth for Dutch cycling.”
