Mark Cavendish took it very well when he bumped into a group of lads from an Irish cycling club out training. They tried to sign him as a lead-out man with an unusual offer.
When the lads from Irish cycling club Dunboyne CC bumped into Mark Cavendish on a training ride in Calpe, Spain, they jumped right in.
In a negotiation conducted on the run by Philip Cassidy, they attempted to entice Cavendish into the Dunboyne CC fold.
We're not sure the lads would have the cash in the club to pay Cav. Indeed, they admitted as much.
But they threw in an offer of copious amounts of free pints to try and entice him away from WorldTour outfit Dimension Data.
Cavendish took it well, to be fair. And Cassidy managed to stay upright while handling the camera and getting his questions in.

Interestingly, double Rás winner Cassidy was in the field when Cavendish rode the Irish race way back in 2004.
The former world champion and sprint legend was part of the U23 British team in the event, won by Ireland's David McCann.
Mark Cavendish was in that team with Graham Briggs, a certain Matt Brammeier, Ed Clancy and Evan Oliphant.
Those were the days when Brammeier was still on the dark side and hadn't declared for Ireland.
Cavendish turned 19 years old a couple of days before the race started. He was 4th on the final stage, below, in Dublin's Phoenix Park.
The Manxman has since gone on to win 30 Tour de France stages, the world road title and Milan Sanremo; to mention just a few.

Malcolm Elliott wins the final stage of the 2004 Rás. Ireland's Paul Healion was 3rd, ahead of Mark Cavendish; then just turned 19-years-old. GC winner McCann took two stages, David O'Loughlin and Dermot Nally claimed one stage each.
