Conor Dunner has been named in the Israel Cycling Academy team for the Giro which gets underway later this month.
It will be the Irish elite road race champion's second career Grand Tour after he rode the Vuelta in 2017 with Aqua Blue Sport.
Dunne was with the Irish team last year when it folded; a bitter blow for him as he had extended with them.
However, he landed a berth with his current ProContinental employer and has now been entrusted with a place in the team's Giro d'Italia line-up.
Also selected on the team with Dunne are: Italian Davide Cimolai, Spain’s Ruben Plaza, Canadian Guillaume Boivin, Latvian Krists Neilands, Italian Kristan Sbaragli, Swede Awet Gebremedhin and Israeli Guy Niz.
The racing gets underway next Saturday, and finishes next Sunday three weeks.
So far Dunne is the only Irish rider named by his team for the race. Dan Martin and Nicolas Roche definitely will not ride, neither will Ryan Mullen.
However, while Team Ineos had named its team for the Italian Grand Tour, Egan Bernal has now broken a collarbone and is out.
That may open the door for Eddie Dunbar, especially after his storming ride at the Tour de Yorkshire today.
But aged just 22 years and in his first full season at WorldTour level it is unclear if the team would start him.
Dunne will seize any chance he can to go in the breakaways, which may be a better option later in the race.
