Irish bike race with richest prize list | €500 for winner, €3,000 prize fund

This Sunday sees a number of road races being held in Limerick, Meath and Monaghan, with the Limerick event offering a very big prize fund....

Limerick's Newcastle West CC does not seem to be having much trouble filling its entry capacity for the PJ Riordan Cup this weekend, possibly due to the large prize money fund on offer.

There is €500 for the winner of the A1-A2 race and a total prize fund on the day, across the races being promoted, of €3,000. The host club said last night the field was filling up quickly.

While it plans to keep the entry process open until Saturday, it said it may close early if numbers continued to come in at the rate witnessed yesterday, even though it is being run on the same day as the Cycling Ireland National Road Series 'Round 3' - the Meath GP.
