After two seasons at Team Jayco AlUla, Eddie Dunbar is set to leave the Australian World Tour team and has signed for ProConti outfit Q36.5 Pro Cycling. His departure from his current team comes at a time when it is effectively undergoing an overhaul.
He will be joining a squad that currently contains British rider Tom Pidcock as it's only heavy-hitting general classification rider, meaning Dunbar should get a lot of team leadership chances in races of his choice.
Dunbar told stickybottle in recent weeks that, despite exiting the Tour de France after a crash on stage 7, he had a number of contract offers and was effectively all set for next season.
“I have a solid option there,” he said at the time, essentially confirming that he has been given a good offer. “Obviously it’s a busy time of year for everyone in terms of contracts. I think there’s a lot of moving around on the market this year.
Dunbar is currently preparing to ride La Vuelta with Team Jayco AlUla, after winning two fantastic stages for the team at the Spanish Grand Tour last season.
More to come.
