Ineos Grenadiers names its team for Liège-Bastogne-Liège battle

Tom Pidcock wins the recent De Brabantse Pijl from Wout van Aert and Matteo Trentin. Pidcock goes into Liège-Bastogne-Liège as one of the favourites but the race distance may be a lot for him to handle in his first year at this level

Ineos Grenadiers has named its team for this weekend's Liège-Bastogne-Liège, with Ireland's Eddie Dunbar unfortunately not in the line-up.

While Dunbar's absence diminishes Irish interest in the race this weekend, the 24-year-old has had a busy time of it of late. And with Ineos Grenadiers rotating their riders, Dunbar sits this one out.

The riders the team has named make for a very impressive group; Tom Pidcock, Richard Carapaz, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Michał Gołaś, Michał Kwiatkowski, Luke Rowe and Adam Yates.

With Pidcock having won Brabantse Pijl, been 2nd in Amstel Gold and finished 6th in La Flèche Wallonne, he goes into this Sunday's races as one of the favourites. However, it will be interesting to see how he does when the distance goes over 250km - Sunday's race some 259km.
