A book featuring some of the work of well-known Irish cycling photographer Sean Rowe is to go on sale this Christmas with 50 per cent of the proceeds going to the newly-inaugurated Emerald Fund.
The man behind the initiative is Dubliner Paul Norton and he’s been busy collecting images to add to the book.
Such has been the interest in Norton’s idea that he’s had to push back the closing date for submissions until midnight tomorrow, Sunday December 13th.
Norton, a keen racing cyclist who rides for Strata3-VeloRevolution, said he wanted to do something that both recognised the work of Rowe and helped the aforementioned fund financially assist Irish riders.
“The photos can be of yourself, a team mate, a spectator, a pro, whatever. But send me just one,” said Norton.
“I’ll compile all the images and produce a hardback photo book in time for Christmas.”
It’s important to note that Norton will only be accepting 100 photos, all which must have been taken by Sean Rowe.
The cost of the book will be €45 which covers postage and packaging, while 50 per cent will go to Sean as a token of the Irish cycling community’s appreciation for all his selfless work throughout the year.
Email your photo to [email protected] and include how many copies you would like and also your postal address.
Even if you aren't contributing a photo you can still buy a copy and likewise you can contribute a photo with no obligation to buy a book.

Sean Rowe is the epitome of the trusim ‘an owner of a Canon camera doesn’t make you a good photographer; it just means you own a Canon camera’. Part of what make his pictures so good is he knows exactly where and when to be…as this photo proves.

It definitely isn’t the glamour that makes Sean Rowe travel the length and breadth of Ireland to get to races.

No job too big or too small for our man Sean Rowe! The Wexford man made his way to Richmond this year for the World Championships and here is a shot he can be very proud of, capturing Sam Bennett holding his own as the riders pass the start-finish area during the elite race.

Two words: Shay Elliott. Anyone who has ever done the race or knows anything about it will know this climb. Rowe, through his experience, usually knows where to be to get the best shots and this is proof of that.
