The awards process aims to “shine a light on the local
sporting workforce, recognising the outstanding contribution of coaches,
officials, volunteers and projects” and the role they play in getting people
involved in sport and running all aspects of all sports.

“We at Sport Northern Ireland are back for another year
to give our sporting community the opportunity to showcase their achievements
and say a special ‘thank-you’ to local coaches, officials, volunteers and
projects as we now open the 2020 SportMaker Awards for nominations,” said Antoinette
McKeown, the chief executive of Sport Northern Ireland

“The SportMaker Awards will once again acknowledge the
work of Northern Ireland’s sporting workforce and highlight the outstanding
achievements of the people and projects that have made an enormous impact over
the past year, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
