One of Northern Ireland’s biggest car dealers has given generous financial backing to a new seven-criterium series which starts on June 3rd in Newry, Co. Down.
Agnew SEAT dealers have recognised the growth in the sport on the back of the Giro d’Italia which hosted the Grand Depart last year and are keen to get more involved at a local level.
Sales Manager at Agnew’s, Simon Trainor, said “We’re delighted to be involved in the inaugural Super 7 Series.
“Being a dynamic, design-driven and spirited brand, SEAT fits very well with the cycling scene in Northern Ireland.

“SEAT is one of the fastest growing car brands in the UK so assisting with the fastest growing amateur sport makes sense,” he added.

The crits will start on Wednesday June 3rd in Newry while Derry, Antrim, Ards, Banbridge, Belfast and Bangor will also host a round of the series.
Upwards of €5,500 (£4,000) is up for grabs in total - a very significant amount of money.
Points will be awarded to the top 10 in each race which will lead to an overall Series Champion.

A rider’s best five results from the seven races will count towards the overall.
The series is open to A1, A2, A3 and eligible junior riders.
Support races for other categories will be announced by each host club.
