Inside the huge US house of cyclist Greg LeMond
After his reputation was badly damaged by Lance Armstrong, whose performances he questioned; Greg LeMond said he lost millions of revenue in business deals in the bike industry.
However, this look inside the treble Tour de France winner's house reveals the former top pro is still doing OK for himself.
LeMond and his estate agent have released these photos of the US home he is now trying to sell for $4.9 million.
The property, a secluded mansion set on its own grounds, is on the outskirts of Minneapolis; 3000 Willow Drive to be precise.
He and wife Kathy LeMond tried to sell it last year but there were no takers. And so it’s back on the market again as the LeMonds have already moved to Tennessee.
It has six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms and is set on 11,500 square foot.
"People literally say their breath is taken away," said estate agent Patty Napier of Coldwell Banker Burnet; the agency the LeMonds have hired in their bid to sell the property.
"It’s an unusual home for Minnesota. It’s more of a Southern-type of home. So that makes it one-of-a-kind for that area. It’s just majestic."
They moved into the house after LeMond relocated his family back to the US from his base in Belgium in 1990.
After they bought the house and the family moved in, LeMond continued to live and race in Europe during the season.
He permanently relocated back to the family homestead after hanging up his racing wheels in 1994.
