Some of the bikes seized in Dublin in one consignment at the end of last year. Gardaí have now issued photos, below, of many of the bikes
Gardaí have put in show a large number of bikes that were seized in one consignment at the end of last year.
Photos of the bikes, many of them expensive models, have been published for the first time by the Garda and published by stickybottle, below.
These bikes - racers, hybrids, MTBs and children's bikes - were found in a shipping container in Newcastle, Co Dublin, on December 26th last.
The bikes had been stolen and gather, probably for export in the shipping container, by a criminal gang that gardai believe was targeting higher-end bikes.
The stolen bikes were found by gardai based in Pearse St
station in Dublin’s south inner city and they are currently trying to reunite
the bikes with their owners.
People who believe their stolen bikes are in the photos
below are asked to contact the Garda by email only.
If anyone calls into Pearse St station looking to view
the bikes they will not be facilitated due to the Covid19 measures currently in
place.
If you believe one of these bicycles is yours, please
email [email protected] with the following information:
- Your name and contact number
- Bicycle ID - each photograph has a different ID, for example DD80
- Your bicycle serial number
- A photograph of your bicycle, if possible
- Any distinguishing marks/features that only you would be aware of
If you have had not a bike stolen of late but you knows other who have, you could pass this story onto them or share it on social media for others to check if their stolen bikes are among this haul.
While the bikes were found in Co Dublin they may have been stolen in other counties.
