Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a serious road traffic crash last week after the cyclist involved died from his injuries.
The crash occurred in Co Tipperary last Wednesday and the Garda has now confirmed the man, who was in his 40s, had died yesterday.
"Gardaí are continuing to investigate the traffic collision involving the cyclist that occurred at approximately 3:20pm last Wednesday, November 18th, at Sarsfield St, Nenagh, Co Tipperary," a statement from Garda Headquarters said.
It confirmed the man had died in hospital, some five days after the crash, and that a technical examination of the scene has taken place.
"Gardaí at Nenagh are renewing their appealing for any witnesses to come forward," the statement said, urging people with information to come forward.
"Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage - including dash-cam - who were travelling on Sarsfield St from 3pm to 3:20pm, on November 18th, to make this footage available to gardaí."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067 50450 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
Gardaí do not believe any driver, or any other road user, was involved in the crash that has now proven fatal.
The cyclist was taken to Limerick University Hospital from the crash scene and had been undergoing treatment there but has since died from his injuries.
