
Gardaí have launched a public appeal for information after a cyclist was left with multiple serious injuries following a hit and run by a driver in Co Meath.
The investigation into the incident has been ongoing for almost one month and as the next phase of that inquiry, an appeal has been launched for witnesses to come forward as gardaí try to track down the driver responsible.
Gardaí at Dunshaughlin are investigating the hit and run, which occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, December 8th, on the L2214 - Kilcloone to Maynooth - road.
"At approximately 1.20pm, a male cyclist was knocked off his bicycle by a (driver who) failed to remain at the scene. The incident resulted in the cyclist suffering several serious injuries," the Garda said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Gardaí in particular are appealing to the person who aided this male to please come forward to assist with this investigation."
Anyone was on the L2214 Kilgraigue - Kilcloon to Maynooth - road and witnessed the incident is asked to contact gardaí.
Investigators are also appealing for any drivers who may have dash cam footage of the area round the time of the driver's hit and run to contact Dunshaughlin Garda station on 01-8258600, Ashbourne Garda station on 01-8010600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
