Game-changer smart helmet connects and puts you in control

Without question, helmet technology like this is the future. This one has just launched.

Having raised $319,000 on Kickstarter in recent months, Coros LINX is in the process of rolling out its new smart cycling helmet.

The new lid uses open-ear bone conduction, which gets sound into your ear while keeping your them free to hear what’s going on around you.

It means you can listen to your music without compromising your safety by drowning out the noise from the traffic you’re sharing the road with.

It comes with a smart remote – which is mounted on your handlebars – and an accompanying app.

Using Bluetooth technology, you can make and take phone calls or listen to music and change the songs or stations you have on using the control pad rather than reaching for your phone or other devices in your back pocket.

And because the system is connected to your phone, you can also take audio direction from Google maps and even receive performance data – such as your speed or how far you are from your destination.

And the bone conduction means the sound is heard by the user via vibrations in the head and face bones rather than having two headphones stuffed into your ears and comprising your safety by drowning out the sound of the traffic.

The microphone built into the helmet that allows riders speak on the phone also enables those with the Coros LINX helmet talk to other riders wearing the same type of helmet cycling with them.
