Mark Downey (above) won the time trial in the Junior Tour of Ireland last month and will go into the National Junior Time Trial Championships this Saturday as one of the favourites, though faces strong opposition from a number of others. John Heverin of Clann Eireann will be the man to beat in the vets' title race, with the likes of Greg Swinand (Usher IRC) and John Madden (Curran Racing) also hot favourites.
