Cycleways Cup, Co Meath

Saturday

John Moore Memorial - Carryduff

Promoted by Castlereagh CC, the John Moore Memorial takes place on Saturday morning at Carryduff, Belfast. There are two races down for decision: a combined A1/A2/A3 race and a separate race for A4s.

The A4s are off first, at 10am. The combined race starts at 10.10am and is a handicapped event. There will be gaps of around three minutes between the groups in that race.

The sign on – open between 9am and 9.45am - will be at the Lough Moss Centre in Carryduff but riders are asked to park their cars at the Carryduff Baptist Church just down the road. Showering and changing facilities are available in the Lough Moss Centre.

The start/finish area is at the Carr Road – around two miles from Carryduff out the Hillsborough Rd.

The combined main event is now full though there are some places left for the A4 race. Peter Hawkins (IGMarkets/Sigma Sport) and Adam Armstrong (Eurocycles) are just two riders down to start the combined main event.

Sunday

John Haldane Memorial RR - Newry

The Newry Wheelers promoted Jon Haldane Memorial takes place on Sunday morning. It’s an early start time at 10am, with sign on opening from 8am at Newry City Football Club, Greenbank.

The race route is along the Newry to Warrenpoint dual carriageway, which has always produced fast racing in the past. There are two races down for decision.

The main event is for A1/A2/A3 riders and takes in five laps of the mainly flat circuit for a total race distance of 48 miles. It will be a handicapped event.

Details of the A4 race will be confirmed on the morning but provisionally that looks like being four laps; for a total race distance of 38 miles.

There is no race for the over 50s and women because this year the organisers must complete the races before a local football match starts.
