Four-time national road race champion Matt Brammeier has confirmed he will be aiming for title number five in Blessington this month.
The Dimension Data rider is the latest rider to confirm his attendance - though he will only be doing the road race, even though he has won that in the past (2011).
Sam Bennett (Bora-Argon 18) and Dan Martin (Etixx-QuickStep) are racing the Criterium du Dauphineé which starts tomorrow and are both likely to be in Ireland for the showpiece event on June 26th.
He was successful on the road from 2010 through to 2013, making him the rider with the most amount of elite road titles to his name.
David McCann and David O'Loughlin both have three each.
On two occasions (2010 in Sligo and 2012 in Clonmel) Brammeier beat Nicolas Roche (Team Sky) for the gold medal while he edged Dan Martin in a thrilling contest in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan in 2011.
Most recently, he saw off Philip Lavery on a wet day Carlingford three years ago with Damien Shaw (Aquablue) coming in for bronze on that occasion.
Given his racing smarts and experience, the 30 year-old will definitely be one of the favourites for the championships.
Roche, 2015 champion Ryan Mullen (Cannondale), Eddie Dunbar (Axeon Hagens Berman), Stephen Clancy (Novo Nordisk), Conor Dunne (JLT-Condor Cycles), defending champion Damien Shaw (An Post Chain Reaction), Connor McConvey (An Post Chain Reaction) and Michael O'Loughlin (Team WIGGINS) are just some of the others who will be in Blessington.
Philip Deignan (Team Sky) is yet to confirm whether or not he will be present.
