Ronan McLaughlin on the attack in London on the closing stage of Tour of Britain 2011
Three teams riding the upcoming Tour of Britain have named Irish riders on the race’s provisional start list, which has been published by the race organiser’s this evening, Tuesday.
In the An Post-Sean Kelly line-up are Ronan McLaughlin, Sam Bennett and Sean Downey. The UK squad Node4-Giordana has included Dubliner Philip Lavery in its roster for the race while another of the UK team’s taking part IG Sigma Sport have Belfast man Peter Hawkins in their line-up.
It must be stressed at this point that the start list below is provisional and there will definitely be changes to the line-ups before the week-long race begins this coming Sunday, September 9th, in Ipswich.
The field is probably the best ever, with the Team Sky line-up including World Champion Mark Cavendish and Tour de France and Olympic TT winner Bradley Wiggins.
