For our money, the Bora-hansgrohe kit is the nicest of the WorldTour teams this year. And Sam Bennett, above, will get his campaign underway very soon.
Having had a very testing season last year, Sam Bennett hit his stride at the end of the campaign with three rapid fire victories.
Mark Cavendish’s scalp was just one he collected on his way to winning Giro della Toscana, which he followed up with another victory at Paris-Bourges.
And in the earlier part of the season, before his horror crash on stage 1 of the Tour de France in July, Bennett had won the opening stage of Critérium International and taken the yellow jersey.
He will be looking to continue his late season run from last year when he gets the 2017 underway in a few weeks in Australia.
There he tackles both the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and the Tour Down Under.
Riding for ProContinental team Bora-Argon 18 last year, that team has since morphed into Bora – hansgrohe and is now a WorldTour outfit.
It has just published the first photos of Bennett in his new kit which, for us, is the best looking of the WorldTour teams.
Hopefully we’ll see him take more victories, has he has done on the pro circuit every year since signing with An Post-Sean Kelly in 2011.
After the Tour Down Under and Cadel Evans race in Australia late this month, Bennett returns to Europe for Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne in Belgium followed by Paris-Nice in France. The Giro d’Italia is also in his program.
