The Gorey Three Day stage race set for Co Wexford on the Easter Bank Holiday weekend has been called off.
New promoters of the race, Gorey Cycling Club, has announced the measure due to the coronavirus.
It follows the news yesterday from Cycling Ireland that all races and sportive events affiliated to the federation were off up and including Sunday, March 29th.
While the Easter stage races do not take place until the second weekend in April, which is two weeks beyond the current Cycling Ireland cancellation now in place, Gorey CC said the uncertainty meant it was no longer "viable" to continue planning for the event.
