The 2km exercise zone around people's homes in the Covid19 lock-down period is being extended to 5km.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has announced the move while also stating that the Covid19 lock-down measures have been extended until May 18th; two weeks after the current lock-down period was due to expire.

The bad news for cyclists - or indeed anyone who does lots of exercise and likes to get out and about - is that people have been told they can only exercise within a certain radius of their homes until May 18th.
However, that distance has at least been extended from 2km at present to a radius of 5km and from May 18th Ireland will begin to open up from the lock-down measures.
To be clear, the 2km from home restriction remains in place until early next week, May 5th. At that point the zone is extended to 5km, until at least May 18th.
The pin drop site - 2kmfromhome.com - lets you instantly map the 2km radius around your home no matter where you live and has also added a 5km facility so you can see the area 5km from your home.
Just click on the link and allow the device access to your location and then choose the '5km zone' option and the device instantly throws a red zone over the 5km radius around your home.
The video below explaining how the device works dates from a few weeks ago when the 2km zone was introduced. However, the device works in exactly the same way now, but with a 5km from home option included that you can choose.
