European champion Thibau Nys may have been one of the big draws at the UCI Cyclocross World Cup in Dublin but the young Belgian star suffered a nasty crash.
The Baloise Trek Lions rider was a non-finisher after his crash on the planks on the opening lap and the footage below - by Irish rider Ffion Dolan - captures him screaming as the incident happened.
There were some fallers in the field just ahead of Nys, and when he came through at speed, as he stayed on his bike trying to skip over the obstacles, he hit the deck.
His father, cyclocross legend Sven Nys, was also present in Dublin, walking around the circuit alone and shouting instructions and encouragement at all of the Baloise Trek Lions in action.
