Former Team Sky rider Alex Peters is set to resume racing next year, on the British domestic scene, after a break of three years from cycling.
He has been announced among a 2020 18-man Canyon DHB p/b Soreen team; the British Continental outfit.
The
25-year-old previously rode for Madison Genesis and was 2nd overall
at the An Post Rás in 2014 aged 20 years at the time.
He then moved to SEG Racing for 2015 and finished 2nd in the Tour de Normandie (2.2) and 7th in Le Tour de Bretagne (2.2).
Peters then rode as a stagiaire for Team Sky for the latter months of the 2015 season and joined them full-time for 2016.
He rode the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali (2.1), Giro del Trentino (2.HC), Tour de Romandie (2.UWT) and Amgen Tour of California (2.HC) with Team Sky in 2016, among other events.
His
best result came in the Japan Cup at the end of the season where he took 6th
place. However, he has not raced since then.
He had a contract with Team Sky for 2017 but announced at the start of that year that due to personal reasons he planned to step back to Continental level with SEG Racing for the 2017 season.
However, he never raced during that year but is now returning to cycling having secured a place with Canyon DHB p/b Soreen.
