Irish cycling team Evo Pro Racing has unveiled its final three riders. And now its full 14-man roster for 2019 is confirmed. Above, Italian Eugenio Alafaci.
Evo Pro Racing, the new Irish cycling team that will ride at Continental level next year, has confirmed its final three of 14 riders.
Italian Eugenio Alafaci, Albanian Eugert Zhupa and Dominic Mestre from Portugal are the latest riders to agree terms.
Alafaci (28) has spent the past five years riding for the Trek WorldTour team. And before that he rode for Continental squad Leopard-Trek.
He won Simac Omloop der Kempen (1.2) in 2013 and has taken a string of top five placings during his career.
They include 4th overall at Flèche du Sud, where he also claimed the points classification.
Alafaci brings a wealth of experience to the team having ridden the Giro d'Italia four times.
Eugert Zhupa (28) has joined the new team after three years with Wilier Triestina-Selle Italia. He has been Albanian road race champion four times and TT champion three times.
He has been a lead-out man for Jacob Marezcko and has ridden each of the last four Giros.
Albanian Eugert Zhupa is another rider confirmed for Evo Pro Racing.
Dominic Mestre (25) is making a return to pro racing by signing with the new Irish team.
He last raced at Continental level in 2015; for the Louletano-Ray Just Energy Continental team.
The final three signings complete what is a very strong team line-up for the team's maiden campaign in 2019.
It is a truly international squad, but one that stays true to its Irish routes in its selection of riders.
