Remco Evenepoel has received a warning from UCI officials at Brabantse Pijl today after pushed young British rider Ben Turner of Ineos Grenadiers.
Evenepoel (QuickStep-AlphaVinyl) and Turner, one of the revelations of the spring, were in a breakaway move with about 70km to go. The young Belgian wanted to get on the wheel of Victor Campenaerts (Lotto Soudal), who was on the front at the time.
Rather than waiting to roll through, Evenepoel was apparently in too much of a hurry and so reached out and pushed Turner out of his way. The young Brit, to his credit, looked over and laughed at his fellow breakaway man.
However, the race jury clearly didn't see the funny side of the incident - which was shown on TV - and gave Evenepoel a warning.
More to follow.
