Entries are now being taken for the Scott Junior Tour of Ireland which takes place next month from July 12-17th in county Clare.
The popular stage race has produced some superb champions over the years with Rás stage winner Eddie Dunbar being the last Irishman to take home the yellow jersey.
The Corkman won back-to-back titles in 2013 and ’14 respectively but last year victory went to Frenchman Marin Ferre of the Joublot Bisontine team.
The competition will be as fierce as ever and with a fine crop of domestic juniors it’s going to be one heck of a battle.
As usual there’ll be an Irish national selection while the likes of the Nicolas Roche Performance Team will also be represented.
As well as that there will be the usual smattering of provincial selections and club teams, not to mind a strong contingent from overseas.
Three Irish finished in the top 10 overall last year, those being runner-up and stage winner Darragh O’Mahony, Simon Tuomey and Jake Gray.
All three rode for the national team but only the latter is underage again this year.
He is likely to spearhead the men in green again, though that final selection is a couple of weeks away yet.
