The UCI World Road Championships got underway yesterday in Richmond, Virginia, with the trade team time trial titles down for decision.

In the men's event BMC Racing retained the title they had taken in Spain last year while Velocio-SRAM took their fourth elite women's title.

Our man Sean Rowe was there to capture all the action.

In this set of shots he captures the men's race and we'll bring you his photos from the women's decider later.
