Egan Bernal has "no regrets" about how he has ridden the Tour de France, or the season so far, and while losing lots of time on yesterday's stage ended his hopes of winning the final yellow jersey, it was something he could not change.
In an interview he recorded with his Ineos Grenadiers team, Bernal said he was proud of his achievements so far in his career.
"I have won one Tour de France already and no-one can change that. I was the first Colombian to win... I am really proud of that," he said.
The reigning champion said if he could become a team helper for his team mates and "take bidons to them... which I have never done" he would do so.
However, if his back injury and his condition allowed it, he would also try and get up the road in a breakaway in coming days when the race hits the Alps.
